MONDAY
"i am so NOT looking forward to dissecting..whatever creater we are dissecting today" max said. they were made to get back into their groups again, which meant more dealing with Jordan. she didn't have a problem with her, but shed be wrestling with her emotions the whole weekend. what and were where these emotions coming from? and what the heck did they mean? shes taken to keeping her distance from Jordan. but lately. she was having to do everything but that.
"maybe its a cat this time" Cami chirped.
"oh my god! Cami! thats sick!..and slightly disturbing!" max said throwing a serious look in her direction.
"as you have been told, we are dissecting again today, only this time it will be snakes"
"sweet" Cami said, rocking back and forth in her desk. her and Priscilla hi five each other.
"ok, seriously..who are you..and what'd you do with my best friend?" max said looking at her. Cami turned to her and grinned.
"ill do it" Jordan said across from her.
"but..we have to do this as a group..besides..making you do this by yourself just because i have reptile issues is stupid...ill just have to suck it up" max said, realizing what she said, a disgusted look on her face.
"really,i dont mind doing it..for you".
max looked up at her.
"if it was anyone else though, i think id make them suffer" she said looking her, a grinning coming across her face. "funny actually..but its you...im not gonna make you do that...im cool with doing it myself..if it'll make you happy" Jordan said looking at her. Cami looked up at Jordan and slightly elbowed max, max looked over at her, then back at Jordan.
"yea..uh ...thanks"she said looking down at her desk.
Max was surprised with herself when she didn't puke or ask to be excused when the snake was placed on the table. she was even more surprised when she asked Jordan if she could help. never would she have thought snake dissecting to be so fun. Jordan must be good like that she thought to herself as she helped put away the utensils before the bell rang.
"a friend huh?" Cami said as she grabbed the books out of her locker, closing it. "its funny..i never got any names of these friends" Cami said, leaning against the locker. max looked at her
"names dont matter, only the situation" max said, studying the inside of her locker.
"sure" Cami said giving her a slight grin before heading off.
"that wasn't so bad was it" Jordan said coming and standing behind her. max stood at her locker a moment before responding.
"actually it was sort of...interesting" she said, a smile in her laugh
"well isn't that something..i just might have changed your perspective on reptiles" Jordan said, slight grin.
"i wouldn't say that just yet" max said. grabbing her notebook, turning she came face to face with Jordan, one hand up against the lockers. As a sudden reaction Jordan placed her other hand on her side.
"whoa!"
they stood there, within inches of each other. starring in each others eyes.
"i never got to thank you for..inviting me to the game...and to get ice cream the Otha day" Jordan said looking down at her and back up, smiling. max swallowed hard. god, she smelled so good. her breathing became slightly harder.
"its no problem..thanks for coming." she said, smile slight on. they stood there in that position for what felt forever. felt as though the world had just stopped. everything froze, as they stood there, starring at each other, before Jordan leaned in to kiss her, max embracing her. Snapping back to realizations max leaned back quickly, Jordan backed up.
"uh..i gotta go" max said nervously. looking to her side, then back at Jordan before leaving. Jordan stood there slightly bitting her lip, a smile on her face, she stood there a moment before turning and heading to class.
"and how was your day angel" Harley asked. her voice alone comforted max. she was stressed. and confused.
"it was...uh..interesting" max said. recalling the kiss. and Jordan
"interesting... as in two girls about killing each other over a guy...or interesting as in a teacher getting fired for sexual assault interesting" there was silence for a moment.
"babe?"
"uh...no actually" max said slightly laughing "uhmm...we just had to dissect snakes today is all" max said. knowing maxs fill on snakes, Harley laughed softly.
"you certainly did have an interesting day didn't you"
"yea...i certainly did" max said, walking around her living room. her mind went back to Jordan, and the kiss.
"you ok babe?...you seem quit" Harley asked concerned.
"no..i ...i didn't sleep well last night..and us having loads of homework...i think ill call it an early night..thats all..kind of tired"
"completely understood...sleep well darlin" there was silence for a second.
"Harley.i wish you were here" max said. stopping and standing there.
"me to babe..just think in two or three years..we'll be falling asleep in each others arms....and waking up in each others arms...no longer will we have to confine in just voices..we'll be together....will be one" Harley whispered softly. max could almost fill her beside her. a tear ran down her cheek.
"i love you"
"i love you, sweet dreams princess"
"you to" max said, hesitating a moment before closing her cell. she cried herself to sleep that night.
