"how was the beach beautiful?" Harley asked when she called that night.
"fun..but would have been so much better if you were there" max said, she was laying on the bed.
"yea, Ive always wanted to try sex on the beach" Harley said, that devilish tone in her voice. max giggled a little
" oh i see, you wanna get drunk on the beach huh?...i see how it is" max said, smiling, playing with her.
"nah"
"whatchu want then!"
"U! girl i want U!" Harley said dramatically in the phone
"me?"
"yes you!" max couldn't help but smile. Harley was so good about knowing exactly what to do to make her smile and laugh. to make her happy. she didn't know what shed do without her.
"I'd love to talk to you more princess, but im a little tired"
"no its fine, go sleep, ill talk to you tomorrow, i love you"
"i love you to beautiful."
max could her the smile in her voice. she hung up.
THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY
"so your coming to the game tonight right" Cami said, slamming her locker, her and Priscilla walking toward the door.
"yea ill be there"
"and bring Harley this time!" Priscilla yelled.
smiling max turned, opening her locker to grab her homework for the weekend.
They slammed their lockers in unison. turning they both smiled.
"hey" Jordan said, walking over. max never realized her locker was across the hall from hers.
"hey"
"boy they sure do load us on on work at this school, dont they?" Jordan said, leaning up against the locker beside max
"yea" max giggled "but you get used to it"
"yea" Jordan said, her voice trailing off "well ill see you Monday" she said as she turned to walk away
"wait!...uh..are you busy tonight?" max said swinging around rather quickly. what are you doing max.
"im free...whats up?" Jordan said stopping and looking at her.
"....well uh...cams got a game tonight...its here...a home game...and uh...harleys going...so you could uh meet her...my girlfriend...Harley, my fiancée...my fiancée Harley" gees why am i trippin.
Jordan stood there, a huge smile on her face, nodding as she listened to max ramble on. it was cute how she stuttered.
"yea,..im down with that" Jordan said smiling
"cool...ill see you tonight then". max said walking for the door
"yea..tonight" Jordan said, smiling as she watched her leave.
"dont you look cute" Harley said, leaned against the bathroom wall as she watched max apply war paint to her face. Max smiled, she was wearing one of the many softball tees they sold at school, with blue jeans. Finishing up she turned to Harley
"good?" she asked. Harley stood there a moment, surveying her
"hmmm, i dont know" Harley said, placing her hand on her chin. "model for me."
max giggled, turning and posing as if she were on a runway.
"and now?" she asked.
"somethings still missing..ahh yes" Harley said, reaching for her hand, she pulled her to her smiling as she kissed her. Max smiled.
"theres that smile i love to see" Harley said, smiling down at her. "we ready?"
"were ready" max said, smiling and kissing her once more.
"you got everything" Harley asked as they walked out the door.
"everything i need for a softball game" max giggled.
"good deal..lets go show some school spirit." Harley said, grabbing her hand as they walked to the car.
they arrived just as the game was beginning. Walking up, max pointed to Harley that Cami was catcher. they watched her a moment as she threw yet another ball to the pitcher, settling back into place.
"hey!" max new that voice almost immediately, looking up at the bleachers she stopped Jordan, she smiled and waved, gesturing for Harley to follow her. Coming up to there row, max slide in beside Jordan, sitting down she gave her a quick smile before introducing Harley
"Jordan, id like you to meet Harley, my fiancée...and Harley, this is Jordan....a good friend of mine from school" max said, starring at Jordan a moment before turning to Harley The compliment sort of surprising Jordan causing her to turn quickly looking at max a moment, she smiled, returning her attention to the game.
As the game continued she felt herself sort of awkward sitting in between Jordan and Harley she sat there telling herself to relax, it was her fiancée and a good friend. what was the problem....what was the problem?
Max watched as the coach apparently decided to switch catchers, watching Cami go off field she got up.
"ill be right back, im going to talk to Cami" max said sliding past Harley She stepped off the bleachers just as Cami was coming out of the dugout.
"hey yall made it" Cami said coming up and wrapping her arm around her neck
"yep..we made it" max said, noticing Harley and Jordan were talking as they walked to the consetion stand.
"you want anything?" Cami asked, looking at her.
"no...im fine..thanks though" she said looking back at the bleachers. she waited as Cami got her power aid and they walked back to the game.
"so you done for this game" max asked.
"yea..gotta weak throwing arm this game for some reason, coach decided to replace me with Kendricks." Cami said, as they approached the side of the bleachers.
"you seem to be doing just fine to me" max said looking at her.
"thanks bestie" Cami said hugging her. " i know i can always count on you". she said stepping back and looking up at the bleachers. "i see your girl and Jordan seem to be getting along nicely"
"yea" max said turning and looking at Harley Cami leaned forward a little looking at maxs glance.
"something wrong?" Cami asked
"no, im fine" she said looking back at Cami
"you sure?..cause i got a minute or two if you need to talk". max stood there a moment watching the game.
"no its cool, ill just talk to you after the game"
"alright" Cami said turning and walking back. max stood there a moment before heading back up the bleachers.
"good game" Harley said shacking camis hand. they had won 6-3.
"yea glad you could come" Cami said. as they all walked to the cars. " so...i was thinking....baskin robins ice cream before heading home" Cami said walking backwards.
"sounds good, what about you" Harley said, her arm around her waist as she smiled down at max.
"good to me...and you?" max said looking over at Jordan.
"i think ill skip this time" Jordan said. hearing that max felt a little disappointed inside.
"so whats up?" Cami asked, coming and sitting at the outside table across from max.
"huh...oh its nothing" max said, looking at her a moment before playing with her spoon.
"nothing is always something...besides...i can tell something is wrong..you got that look on your face like your thinking about something" Cami said starring at her. Turing max looked at her a moment.
"its just....never mind it nothing" max said looking down.
"oh!..you were that close to saying it" Cami said standing up. "pls! tell me what is it!" Cami said sliding on the floor on her knees next to max.
"alright! alright!" max said, slightly Turing toward her.
"i have this friend...thats having an issue"
"issue huh?..ok" Cami said listening to her.
"shes with this girl.."
"lesbian....nice" Cami said nodding her head. max glared down at her a moment before continuing.
"and she has this problem..."
"right..?"
"shes with this girl..as i said before...but...theres this other girl.."
"ahh lesbian drama" Cami said leaning back with a grin on her face.
"Cami this is serious" max said looking at her.
"totally" Cami said looking back at her, a smirk look on her face. they were silent a moment.
"this chick wouldn't happen to be you....would it max?" Cami asked grinning.
"i said a friend cam" max said looking down at her.
"just asking" Cami said throwing her hands up. she sat there starring at her. noticing this, max looked down.
"what?!"
"nothing" Cami said smiling as she looked down. "nothing"
