you and me a lesbian love story part 15

"so..are you going to answer my question..whats your girl think about this?" "she doesn't know". max replayed her and jordans conversation over and over in her head that night as she lay in bed. Even when telling her seemed like the best thing to do, the right thing to do, she was scarred, scarred of what my become of it. she lay there a moment before picking up her phone and dialing harleys number.
"hey babygirl, i missed you today" harleys voice said over the phone. max smiled.
"i missed you to" her smile becoming a frown as she started thinking once again about the conversation her and Jordan had earlier.
"so peaches and cream..how was your day?"
"it was...it was great" max said, fake smile on her face. who are you trying to fool max.
"good to here babe,....so...your apparently not the only one swamped with work tonight, its still early...wanna call it a study night?"
max sat there a moment starring off.
"babe"
"yea..id...love to" max said softly.
"you want me to come pick you up?.."
"uh no" max said rather quickly. "no..its fine ill drive myself"
"ok..well..see you when you get here?
"...yea" max said, sitting there a moment before closing her cell. god, why couldn't she stop replaying that conversation, why couldn't she shake that filling, the filling telling her she needed..HAD to tell Harley but it wasn't that big a deal, infact it there wasn't a deal at all, so what was wrong with her. her worst fears were coming into play, she tried not to freak, but could help thinking..what if there WAS something there, what if she did fill something....no thats silly, you love Harley max, you love her, your engaged to her.
"fuck"
she sat there a moment, thinking, pondering, before grabbing her keys off the table and getting up. Walking though the living room and to the door, stopping, she stood there a moment. Slightly Turning and reaching back into her back pocket to grab her cell, flipping it open she dialed Priscilla number as she walked back into the kitchen.
"hello?"
"Priscilla"
"yea, WATS up..you ok?"
"yea..im fine..listen..do you have jordans number by chance?" max said grabbing a pieace of paper from the table and a pen.
"uh..yea..hold on a sec" Priscilla said. max could hear her going through the numbers.
"k..you ready?"
"yea" max said, bending over the table to write as Priscilla read out her number.
"ok thanks" max said said quickly, starting to hangup.
"hey..uh..why you need her number anyway?" darn it.
"i just need to ask her something ..thats all"
silence
"so ill talk to you tomorrow?" max said, anxious to hangup
"...i thought we were cool..?" Priscilla asked.
"what..we are cool"
"then why want you tell me whats really going on"
" because nothings going on"
"oh great..now your lieing to me..some friendship we have here..you want even talk to me about whats going on"
"i already told you nothings going on!"
"oh really?...thats not what Cami said"
"oh so suddenly my business is everybody else's business to?"
"were your friends max"
"ok..yea..you say that now....but you talk behind my back..whats next...you'll call me a slut"
awkward silence.
"if it helps..i know how you fill...i know what your going though that is....doing something because your swept up in the moment...and afterwards you wonder...why the hell did i just do that?...you start to wonder whether telling is the best thing,.... or if the best thing is just keeping it quit...."
"so...what did you do?" max asked after a moment
"it doenst matter what i did...what matters is that you listen to what your hearts telling you to."
"yea..thanks" max said.
"no problem..ill see ya tomorrow" Priscilla said, a click as she hung up.
"yea" max said closing her phone. she stood there a moment before opening it back up and calling Harley after four rings she answered.
"babe, were are you? ..you ok?"
"yea..i..i haven't left yet...theres something i have to do first"
"ok, well ..you know ill be up..so come on when your done"
"Harley i love you"
"i love you to babe"
max smiled. "see you soon?"
"hope so"
"ok..bye" mas said closing the phone. she sighed you dont have to do this max. but i have to know. i need to know. god, why must i constantly wrestle with myself. max thought squirming as she walked back and forth past the kitchen table. fuck just do it all ready.
Opening up her cell once again, starring at it moment, before hesitantly dialing her number.
one ring. two. three. four. she was starring to rethink things. maybe she should just leave it be. she wasn't answering the phone. maybe it was a sign
"eh, wuz good" the all to familiar voice sounded over the phone. caught off guard max stood there a moment.
"...ello?"
"Jordan?"
"...yea?....max?"
"Jordan we need to talk"
"howd you get my number dude?"
"never mind that ..we need to talk"
"...sure..how about lunch tomorrow"
"no..i need to speak with you now"
"whats the emergency" Jordan asked. max caught sound of a slight snicker in her voice, she rolled her eyes.
"look..i just ....need to talk to you..we need to talk..please"
"your not with your girl?"
"im going over there later tonight..look..that doesn't matter..we really need to talk"
silence a moment.
"uh..huh..and whats so important..that it cant wait until tomorrow..ESPICALLY after you got all up in my face earlier today practically cussing me out telling me to never talk to you again"
"im sorry about that ok..i..i just have alot on my mind...and we just meet somewhere please"
"..yea..sure...how bout here"
"wheres here?"
"my house"
"NO!"
"and why not?...scarred i might rape you or something?". and now the sarcasm comes.
"and that right there is the reason i said to never talk to me again"
"my bad..its just who i am..take it or leave it man..."
awkward silence yet again.
"are you coming or not"
"if your house is the only place"
"look..you the one wanting to "talk" so bad..i think you'd be willing to come just about anywhere..if its so important"
"whatever"
"..you got a pen?"
"yea"
"you know were Lawrence st. is at?"
"yea"
"go down that road, and im three on the right"
"third on the right...k. got it" she said closing the phone as she grabbed her things and headed out the door.
